2nd Session is Finished and Southside is Underway

The camp staff is happily relaxing tonight, their first real break since they arrived in Kenya 3 weeks ago.  Second session finished well and tonight they just got to relax and watch the World Cup, knowing that they get the whole day off tomorrow.  They will be going to church but they don't have any official roles, it should be a time for them to receive some spiritual nourishment.  After church, they will get to go out for lunch and then do some souvenir shopping.
Here are a few pictures from the end of the session.
The whole staff ready for battle
This is Amanda, she is their leader!

The Leadership Team all decked out for Summit Fires
The picture above is the Summit Fires site.  Each week there is a design made out of dyed sawdust.  This one is Joseph's coat of many colors.  Joseph is the biblical character that is discussed on Tuesday morning so it is a good reminder for the kids.  Plus, it makes for a really cool looking design.
In addition to camp ending, the team from Southside Church is officially underway.  They landed on Friday night, only missing one bag, just missing one out of 24 isn't bad at all.  Today they spent the day at Lukenya Getaway, helping the camp staff wrap up camp (they had to pack everything up and move out of the program office), going rock climbing, and just getting acclimated.  Tomorrow they will jump into ministry by handling all of the children's programming at church.  The church our team is a part of is an international church so during the summers, there are very few of the normal children's ministry workers around.  So it is a huge blessing to have Southside to work with the kids, as well as serve as greeters.  After church they will head out for their only souvenir shopping opportunity and spend tomorrow afternoon and evening preparing and packing to leave for Western Kenya early Monday morning.
Thank you for praying for both the camp and Southside teams this weekend!
