Praying for our Team

While thinking about what we should put on the blog this week, I was compelled to just let you know how you can be praying for our team.  The reality is that everyone is super busy with tasks right now and trying to get everything done without sacrificing relational time with people or our personal time with the Lord.  Here's a little more specific information about what each person has on their plate right now.  Would you take the time to pray for all of us as you read this?  It would also be great if you could log a few of these things away to pray for over the next month or so.  Thank you so much!

  • As our leader, Kim shares some of the burden of work for all of our ministry areas.  Specifically, she'll be picking up a lot of Stu's managerial roles with Adventures when he leaves in 2 weeks.  She's also doing a lot of budget work for all of the teams and projects this summer, ensuring the funds raised are enough to cover rising costs in Kenya.
  • May is a stressful month for every camp director in the world.  In addition to normal camp director stress, Amanda is also finishing up the year of student ministry and youth group.  Pray for strength and patience for Amanda as she deals with the endless tasks of getting ready for camp and finding the supplies she needs for camp.  Also, pray for wisdom as she puts together the devotion guide for this summer.
  • Stu and Lauren will be leaving Kenya on May 11.  Pray for them as they are wrapping up their time here.  Stu is training new staff this week, preparing for his last few groups, and turning over his responsibilities to those who will be filling his various roles.   Also, pray for their last encounters with the people they have been sharing Christ's love with for the past 5 years.  The goodbyes are going to be super hard.
  • Eric's juggling a lot between camp prep and the western project.  As the program director for camp, he's spending this week trying to get all that he needs for the various programs of camp together.  Next week, they will be drilling the well that is going in at Chakulu church in Western Kenya so he will be there all week so he can be a part of that project.  He'll also be continuing to get everything ready for the various projects that are planned in Western this summer.
  • Clayton is also busy getting ready for camp, particularly for the high school program which he will be leading.  He's also got a climbing trip coming up this weekend and is spending time training some of our Kenyan staff to lead rock climbing trips.
  • CAMP - We need campers for 1st and 2nd sessions.  Pray that they will sign up!!!  Also pray for our staff as they prepare to come.  1 member of the summer leadership team arrives next week and the other 3 arrive in about 2.5 weeks.  Then the staff leave the States on May 23rd.
Thank you so much for praying for each of these people and for camp.  We really, really appreciate your prayers during this busy season of life!
