Celebrating at the Top!
Recently, Mt. Kenya has been a hotspot for our Adventure Trips program. I have been blessed to have organized and led three different groups in the last month. These groups were made up of a wide range of people. From short-term NGO workers to friends just in town for a few days, it has been a blast to get to watch people experience one of my favorite places in the world.
The U.S. Embassy has a large number of people that live and work in Nairobi, and we have become the go to people for many of them for trips up the Mountain. Our trips program represents an integral part of our ministry in the international community. Two of the three groups have been comprised of Embassy workers or friends of people at the Embassy. This provides a great opportunity for me to get to know and love on these people.
Also, because I’ve been spending so much time on the mountain, I have gotten to know many of the porters and other guides that work on the Mountain. This has been a blessing in many ways. I have gotten to know a lot of really cool guys and it has helped me find some quality guys to give work to in the future.
I am truly thankful for the time I have gotten to spend on Mt. Kenya in the past and even more thankful for the way God has revealed Himself through the beauty of His creation.
