Thursday Update

The Lord has been blessing the camp staff in their work at Mt. Suswa.  They have participated in several church services, its not uncommon for Church to just kind of happen when westerners come to a village.  Nate has been preaching and has been a great encouragement to the local church.  One young man, Simon, came to Christ today.  In addition to being in the Church, Tuesday some of the team visited traditional Maasai and was able to give out some food, speak words of encouragement to families and the children in those families who were sitting for their exams.  Those that are working on the greenhouse have made significant progress, the roof and one side are finished.  Some of them have also spent time showing community members how to use a water filter that was donated by the mission organization that we are partnering with on this project.  The staff is also enjoying some cultural activities, playing soccer, and they continue to be challenged each night by the national pastor with whom they are working.  The weather has been perfect and they are all having a great time.
The Southside team said their goodbyes to the folks at Rehema today after passing out shoes that had been donated.  They left Rehema and drove back towards Nairobi, stopping in Nakuru (a city 2-3 hours from Nairobi) for safari.  They were able to see some lions in a tree just 10 minutes after entering the park, so needless to say, they are having a great time.  Here are some more pictures from their time at Rehema and Chekulo Church.
