Over the past few weeks, our team has clearly seen the Lord at work in Kenya. There are stories on multiple posts on this blog about how we saw the Lord work in the lives of campers, opening their eyes to their need for Him. Yesterday I was on the phone with Kim and she said, "Lauren, things are just different here now. Over and over again we are seeing the Lord work in ways we haven't seen before. He is just moving and its so exciting." Here are some examples.
Last week the Lord graciously gave us $100,000 to go towards funding our new ministry hub. The person has been praying, asking the Lord to help them steward their money well and show them where He would have them give and the Lord continued to lay it on their heart to give to this project. We are absolutely blown away by the Lord's goodness.
Our team in Kenya was together at the coast when they got the word. An all out party ensued, it was about so much more than just money. The Lord showed our team very clearly that He is MORE than willing and able to provide our every need. One of our team members said, "I've been praying every day that the Lord would just do something huge, that He would just give us the money we needed to get started." I would imagine our whole team has a similar story, the Lord has used this to increase our faith in His provision! The Lord's timing was absolutely perfect. The team had finished the summer, and was anticipating the fall but still unsure of how things would play out because we still lacked the needed funding, but in the exact moment that the funds were needed, the Lord provided.
Yesterday, Kim was in the first Church ministry leaders meeting of the school year and she told the group about the plans for our new facility. She told them that the climbing gym at DP (the site) was going to be a center for our whole ministry, opening doors to the International community. She wanted them to know that it would be a place to host events for students and give us daily opportunities to be salt and light in the Hindu and Muslim community. After the meeting, a missionary with another organization came up to her with tears in her eyes and said, "Kim, I've been praying that the Lord would be at work at DP. I've been praying that someone would go into that specific place and I've been praying that it would be you guys." How amazing is it that the Lord would lay it on someone's heart to pray for this as He's orchestrating it?
God is so faithful and it is such a joy to watch Him work. We invite you to rejoice with us in the Lord's provision. Would you pray that the Lord would continue to provide for the needs of our team? Would you pray that He would teach us to be good stewards of His gifts? And most importantly, would you pray that the Lord would prepare the hearts of people at DP and in the surrounding communities to respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ?
