Construction Begins on the New BlueSky Ministry Hub

As you probably know by now, the Lord has provided much of the funding that we need to be able to get our new Ministry Hub/ Rock Climbing Gym up and running.  We received the funding at the exact time that we needed to start paying rent on our new facility, God is so good!  Our plans were ready to go so the team (particularly the Rock Gym guys: Stephen, Jason, and Andrew) began moving forward immediately.

This week construction began on the office space, which will house the BlueSky Adventures, Camp BlueSky, and Student Ministry offices.  In May, we provided our 3 month notice on our current office location so it is our hope to have the new offices up and running as close to September 1 as possible.  Here is a shot of the progress so far.  Its so exciting to see walls going up in what was previously a huge, empty room.

Now the guys are working on the final design for our student space, and then we'll commission that contractor and start that build. Our weekly student event will kick-off on September 2nd, and we'll hope to have the student space ready as close to that date as possible. We are thrilled to be able to offer weekly student programming within this space!

In what was definitely no coincidence, Dan Pervorse of Signature Research (our ropes course building company) was in Nairobi for a speaking engagement just days after we received the funding we needed to begin moving forward.  He LOVED the space, and offered the guys all kinds of wisdom on which materials they'll need to buy, etc. We're planning to build the climbing walls in September and  because he was here this week, the guys were able to learn from him directly what supplies they need to have purchased prior to the build. Praise God!

We are so thankful for the Lord's provision and the ability that He has given us to begin building!  We can't wait until this facility is up and running, giving us the opportunity to be salt and light in the lives of people who desperately need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
