One of the things that stuck out to the counselors this week was that the kids really be-friended one another as they sought to love and serve other campers. It was such a blessing to work with the kids this week. Because of the way the school calendars worked out, the staff have a break this week and then they will be back in camp the week after.
During their break from camp the counselors will be volunteering in Nairobi. Some of the time they will be partnering with some missionaries who work in a couple of the slum areas. They will also be running the first ever Camp BlueSky Day Camp, which is called Lil BlueSky. It is for 4-7 year olds, it will be the first opportunity for younger children to connect to camp so we are so excited!
This week our team is also hosting a team from Southside Church in Peachtree City, GA. They landed on Saturday night and spent Sunday rock climbing and adjusting. They also visited what will be our new Rock Gym at Diamond Plaza. Monday morning they will be traveling to western Kenya where they will be working on orphan documentation, working on an irrigation project, and teaching water, health, and sanitation seminars. Here are some pictures from their first day in Kenya.
