Today was the only full day that the FPC team and the camp staff overlap in Western Kenya. The camp staff arrived Tuesday and the FPC team heads out on Thursday. The FPC team continued with their seminars at Luuya Church. Everyone has been so appreciative of the work that the team has done. They have been especially grateful of Pastor Drew's pastors seminars. They have so little access to this type of training and they are hungry for more!
The camp staff were spread out between Kimugui Church, Namwacha Church, and Khalala Church. Their work was focused on planting trees. Kenya is in the midst of an environmental crisis, largely the result of irregular rainfall. By planting trees we hope to care for creation so that the people will be better able to grow the crops that they need desperately. Since they don't have the extra resources to buy trees to plant, its an awesome way to serve them if we can plant some for them. This is the 3rd summer that the camp team has planted trees, so we are slowly getting trees planted at many of the 37 churches.
