New Inroads at the International School

Lexi is one of our newer team members, she joined our team in February and has been such a blessing.  She was a theater major at the University of Southern California and then spent several years after college living in LA before she moved to Kenya to join our student ministry team.  She jumped right in and put her theater background to work by helping with the middle school play at the International school.  The Lord has been faithful to open up doors for Lexi to use her gifts and talents to build relationships in the community.

Since she was coming to work with students, she wasn't expecting to spend much time with adults but the Lord has enabled her to build relationships with many of the teachers at the International school.  She has found herself to be a part of their community.  Many of them don't know the Lord so she has an awesome opportunity to reach out to them as their relationships deepen.  It is also helping to establish Brackenhurst Ministries' presence at that school.  We are so thankful that the Lord is continuing to open doors in this community.

Another cool opportunity that Lexi has had since arriving in Kenya is to spend time with a senior who is going to attend USC.  College is scary for any high schooler but for one who has spent their entire life overseas, it can be particularly daunting.  No one else that she knew had gone to school there or even live in LA so Lexi really enjoyed answering her questions and sharing some of her own experiences in LA.  She hopes to be able to connect her with some of her friends so that she will continue to have someone to invest in her once she is Stateside.
