Staff Week!

Last night the camp safely arrived in Kenya so today was the start of staff week.  Unfortunately, the team was two members short, two counselors were bumped off of the flight in Atlanta but they are scheduled to arrive in Kenya in the next couple of hours.  Otherwise, everything is off to a great start.
Today started with morning devotion and then they took a tour of Lukenya Getaway and got an overview of some of the important things they need to know about Kenyan culture.  After lunch it was time to focus on the team with some teambuilding activities.

They had to jump the rope 3 consecutive times, they did it!

The group makes some applications after one of the activities

After their teambuilding time, the group took to the field for a game of speedball, one of camp's favorite games, especially for middle school boys.  Its kind of like soccer, but you can use your hands too.

Tonight there will be an unpacking party, where they unpack everything they brought for camp and help put it away in the camp office.  Afterwards they will break into smaller groups where they talk about the day and learn a bit more about how cabin devotions will run.  They will end the night with Ice Cream Sundays!  Tomorrow will be a full day that's set up just like a day at camp.  It will be the day they really focus on learning how to run the camp program, so pray they aren't too jet-lagged!
