Camp is Here!

This weekend officially kicks off the start of the summer for our staff.  As I write the leadership team is on a their two day leadership retreat.  Let's pray that the Lord uses this time in their lives to get their hearts and minds ready to lead and that He would continue to build them as a team.  Also, pray that they get some much needed rest before the camp staff arrive.  Russ Sarratt and Ricky Escobar, from WinShape Wilderness, are leading their retreat.  They are staying at a banda in Amboseli so they are probably looking out the window at elephants as I type.   Their sessions are focused on the 6 Best Practices for Self-Leadership, based on content from Dr. Henry Cloud's book, Integrity.
Here is a quick rundown on who the leadership team consists of and what their job responsibilities are:

Kim Pace - Brackenhurst Ministries Director
Eric Carlberg - Program Director
Clayton Pugh - High School Trip Leader
Brittney Collins - Head Counselor (Girls)
Greg Hatcher - Head Counselor (Guys)
Sarah Freeman - Rock Climbing
Isaac Phillips - Ropes Course
While the leadership team is making final preparations for staff week and the summer, the rest of the staff will be getting ready to leave.  They meet at the Pace's to pack up on Saturday and then their flight leaves Sunday, putting them in Nairobi on Monday night.  Please continue to pray that they don't have any problems with the ash.  We'll be keeping the blog updated regularly so be sure to check back often to see what is going on with the summer team.
