2010 Camp Staff

Camp started today when 37 campers full of life and energy arrived at Lukenya Getaway.   Of course we had hoped for more campers but are also excited that the small camper/counselor ration will allow for some great conversations over the next week.  Most of these children attend one of two American system, Christian schools in Nairobi.  Some of them are missionary kids, others come from Christian families working in secular fields, while others may not come from a Christian background but their parents send them to the school for a quality education.  

All of these kids have heard the Gospel but they are in very different places in respect to their walk with the Lord.  Some love Him and are learning what it means to practically follow Christ, others are indifferent, and some want nothing to do with their parent's faith.  It was for these very kids that camp was started for 10 years ago.  The number one reason that missionaries leave the field is their kids, so by ministering to the kids and giving them many of the same opportunities that they would have in the States, it is our prayer that we can in some way enable more missionaries to stay on the field in East Africa.  We are so excited by the opportunity to reach each one of these kids this week.  So would you pray that the kids who come to camp this week would have their hearts and minds transformed by the person of Jesus?
