On moving day, we had our team as well as our Kenyan colleagues were moving the office furniture from the parking lot to the elevator and into the office space. They made at least 3 big trips, and it took most of the morning. So, lots of furniture and people were really obvious to many of the tenants. Sandhia, our training manager, shared in our Adventures staff meeting last week that one of the shop owners (a lady) stopped Sandhia and asked her what our organization did and who we were. Sandhia shared a bit with this lady about our team-building program and our camp program. The lady interrupted Sandhia to comment that the reason she was asking is because the lady has noticed something different about our team. While the team was moving all the furniture, they were talking and laughing with each other, even though it was tough work. And, the team was making a point to chat with the various shopkeepers as they carried the office furniture past their shops. So, the lady noticed that there was something different about our group, and she stopped Sandhia to find out more. We are so thankful that the Lord is already beginning to plant the seeds of relationship with the Hindu and Muslim tenants.
Also, in our staff meeting, we took some time to praise God for all his provisions: for up-coming ropes course groups as well as the timing and provision of the new office space and ministry hub. Then, the whole team spread out in the entire ministry hub space to pray for the people who will come across this space as well as our team as we are now salt and light in this very dark Hindu stronghold. Many of the team members commented about the incredible opportunities that we will have as tenants in this Hindu community.
Here are some shots of the staff meeting and their first tour of the new facility.
