BlueSky Adventures works to develop Kenyan leaders

One of the exciting things about working with BlueSky Adventures is that we get to see the next generation of Kenyan leaders rise up.  We see people that are determined to help their country grow and develop, whether they are leading in the arena of business, in the local church, in schools or in community groups.  It's exciting to see the paradigm shift that is taking place.  You and I grew up in a culture where our earliest school memories include working together for the good of our classmates, sharing, and learning to trust one another.  Our school system is set up to teach us these things without us even having to realize that we were being taught.  Unfortunately, that isn't the case for everyone in the world, and in Kenya in particular.  We get so excited about helping the next generation of  leaders in Kenya to develop these critical skills.  Every time we are on the course, we have the opportunity to talk about integrity, looking out for the good of the team before taking care of your own needs, and the importance of being trustworthy and learning to trust.  These simple principles have the potential to bring about so much change in Kenya.
We've had the privilege to work with a number of organizations lately.  One of the locally run banks sent their entire staff through the program, about 300 people came thru over the course of 8 Saturdays.  Another bank also sent some of their top staff through and they are considering sending their whole staff.  Our team was particularly encouraged after this group because they were asked to close the program in prayer.  Nairobi Chapel, a large multi-campus church that is reaching thousand of Kenyans with the Gospel, send a team through last weekend as well.  Several other groups have also come through the course lately.
We've also been putting a huge emphasis in training and developing our Kenyan national staff over the past few months.  Two of our facilitators have now stepped up to leadership roles where they are both working on the course and taking on additional responsibilities.  Two people are going to be taking a Wilderness First Responder class next month.  We are excited to be able to have some extra safety training for some of our staff.  Jon Gill, who is the interim director, is also working to train a new class of about 6 facilitators so that we have more trained staff that can run groups.  As you can see, lots of training and growth are taking place as we seek to help make BlueSky Adventures the leading experiential training and adventure program in Kenya!
Team members work to weave the rope through the spider's web.
