Kenya Update

First, my apologies for the lapse in blogging for the past few weeks.  I just got back from Kenya where we had our strategic planning retreat, so the past couple of weeks have been busy ones for our team.  Our meetings were very fruitful, we were able to lay out a lot of ministry plans for 2011.  We were also able to begin preparations for the arrival of several new team members who will be joining the team next year.  All in all it was a great time of planning and fellowship.

The Ladies

After 2 days of meetings, we made a quick visit to the Western Project.  Our meetings were in northwestern Kenya so we took a different route there than we usually do.  It was absolutely beautiful!  The bottom picture (above) is from that journey.  Our trip was very brief but we were able to accomplish a few things in addition to visiting a couple of Churches and Rehema.  School has started back again so we were able to connect with the kids and give those with sponsors the opportunity to write them.  Here are a couple of the kids while they were writing their sponsors.

This is Paul, he actually doesn't have a sponsor but really wanted to write a letter anyway.  Would you like to sponsor him???

Finally, I would like to give you one update that is a huge answer to prayer as well as a prayer request. Yesterday the principal from the international school (non-Christian) approached Kim and asked if we would be willing to run something "like Young Life" on campus.  He said that Young Life ran a program at the school he used to work at and he thought it was really good for the kids.  We have literally been praying about this for years and the door just swung opened.  Please pray specifically for both Kim and Amanda as they follow up and plan the next steps for this school.
