The camp staff have been busy getting ready for camp this week! After spending most of Tuesday orienting to Lukenya Getaway, the facility that houses camp, they spent Wednesday getting to know Nairobi so that they will understand more about the kids they will be working with this summer. They went to Village Market, a popular hangout for international students. By the afternoon, they returned to camp and began learning about the camp program.
Thursday was set up like a day of camp. They learned how to run the Skills (sports, arts & crafts, drama, etc.) that they will be teaching the campers each morning. They also learned about the camp-wide afternoon games and the Mountain Times, which are activities for each individual age groups. They also learned all that they need to know about the evening programs. It was a long but productive day. All of the staff are doing well and adjusting to Kenya! Everyone is so excited to get started at camp on Sunday!
Here are some pictures from their arrival and their teambuilding on Tuesday.
