Towards the end of 2010 we asked you to be praying for all of the new staff that would be joining our team this year. Four new team members joined the team in mid-January. Jason, Stephen, Andrew, and Emily are all beginning to settle into life in Kenya. Jason, Stephen, and Andrew are all going to be working on getting a new rock room started, growing our adventure trips program, and working with students while Emily will be working with the teambuilding program. The guys have moved into a house at Rosslyn Academy, one of the primary schools in which the student ministry program focuses. The Lord opened the door for this place for the semester which will enable them to get involved on campus, we are so thankful for this opportunity! Emily is living with Kim and Amanda, and Lexi will be joining them on Friday night. Lexi will be focusing her work on student ministry as well as handling the administrative work for Camp BlueSky.
So far the new team members have been spending time getting familiar with our work. They have met the BlueSky Adventures staff, led a rock climbing trip, done some marketing for camp, started camp planing, spent some time meeting some of Kim and Amanda's friends, and spent some time at the schools. This week we had some guests, so they have also had a chance to visit our project in Western Kenya. They've been on the go ever since they arrived. Their next big task will be learning to drive! If you've ever been to Kenya, you know this is no small feat so you can be in prayer for them.
Here are a couple of pictures from the group from the first group that the new staff worked, students from one of the local British schools.
Andrew gets to know some of the guys as he belays!
