As you can probably imagine, Christmas in Kenya can be just as busy as Christmas in the States. Our student team spent a lot of time with students 2 weekends ago as school was winding down for the holidays.! It started off with the annual Christmas concert at the Christian international school on Friday night. We ended that evening by singing Silent Night in your native language – so you can imagine a room full of people and words sung in multiple different languages. Incredible. Then, the high school 'Winter' Formal was Saturday night, and we hosted the after party. Over 30 kids came full of energy and ready to keep the dancing rolling…so, Jon Gill led us all in an array of country line-dances, many of them infamous from our years at camp. We also had an intense game of 'spoons'. And, then once the brownies came out, Kim and some girls devoured them without so much as an after-thought to the others at the party. And, Amanda spent quality time around the 'campfire' talking with many students. We had a wide representation of students from different grades and friend-groupings, and a great night was had by all!

After 3 hours of sleep, all the kids piled into our cars and we rolled out to church (where Jon Gill was actually leading worship – he did great), and then the festivities continued into Sunday afternoon. The middle school youth group Christmas party… Then the high school Christmas party…

The team has also been busy winding down the year for BlueSky Adventures. They hosted the Christmas party at the house, Kenyan style. There was lots of meat to eat and everyone loved their staff Christmas present, a whole frozen chicken to take home. Jon also made them a praise and worship CD. The staff had a great time of sharing, fellowship, and celebrating the lives that were impacted by the program this year. We had 500+ more participants in 2010 than we did in 2009.

The Team!
Kim and Amanda said goodbye to Jon Gill this week, his 6 months in Kenya are over. He worked hard and served well and is definitely going to be missed. Now the girls will get some rest and spend time with old friends who are back in town for the holidays. Then they will get ready for all of the new team members that will begin joining them in January. Please be in prayer for Stephen, Jason, Andrew, and Emily who will arrive in Kenya in mid January. Then Lexi will be arriving in early February.
Merry Christmas!
